I am feeling emotional and sentimental today and just want to say it warms my heart to see the friends and family of Chris and Jen who show up in court to support them, and to read the well wishes of all the others who cannot be there in person, but are there in spirit. I am honored to be in your company. It takes a certain amount of courage to sit on our side of the aisle, opposite the government and the FBI, and we share a bond from this experience. Jen, I am especially proud to call you my friend, you are a strong woman and a great mother. I cannot imagine how helpless it must feel to have the future of your family rest in the hands of 12 strangers, but that is the American way and you have to trust it.
Lastly, I want to say that my heart goes out to the families on both sides of the aisle – it is true that there is pain all around, and at the end of the day we are all one…
