Today the jury reported that they had reached a unanimous decision on two counts and are deadlocked on two others. The judge asked them to continue deliberating until they have reached a verdict on all four counts. The two verdicts that were decided were not read and will only be read when the jury has reached a final decision on all four counts OR are hopelessly deadlocked on the other two. When/if that happens, the two unanimous counts will stand and the 2 that are hung will face potential re-trial at a later date.
We’ve already discussed in full how there was really no credible evidence against Chris with respect to any of the charges. As to Vinny specifically, it is almost bizarre – there is literally no evidence linking Chris to this crime other than some weird testimony by a drug addict who never met Chris or even heard his name before and a phone call supposedly made by the alleged killer Justin to Chris after the murder. However, there is no credible evidence that Justin made this phone call OR that even if he did, it was because Chris hired him. The evidence actually shows that Vinny and Justin had their own relationship and did drugs together. It makes no sense that Chris (or anyone) would hire someone to kill Vinny on a public street in broad daylight.
We have faith that the jurors will see that there is reasonable doubt on all four counts.
